蒔絵諫鼓鳥蓋物(ケース付き) 【Rooster with the drum to remonstrate the virtuous emperor, lacquer-style】
閑古鳥…ではなく“諫鼓鷄”です。諫鼓とは、｢古代中国で、天子をいさめようとする者に打ち鳴らさせる、朝廷門外に設けたという鼓｣です。その昔、中国の尭帝という天子が、門前に太鼓を置き政道に誤りがあるときには人民にそれを打たしめてその訴えを聞こうとしたが、彼の政治に誤りがなく鼓が打たれることも無かったため、鼓に鳥が巣くった、という平穏な世の中の象徴とされています。
さて、こちらのお品物についてですが、上部の鷄は銀製で、目には赤銅で象嵌がなされています。長い尾羽が非常に優雅です。
鼓面には力強い龍が彫られていて、金銀及び朱があしらわれています。
胴部分は高蒔絵で、本物の木の胴のような模様が描かれています。太鼓台には粗めの金粉がふんだんに使用されており、土台としての力強さが感じられます
さらに、太鼓部分の内側には大変細かい梨地の蒔絵が施されています。
このように部位事に異なる技法が用いられており、それぞれの金工が非常に精密な大珍品でございます。大変腕のある塗師と金工師の合作だそうです。

【Description】
In the ancient China, there was a drum to remonstrate the virtuous emperor if he governs there in a wrong way. However, his government had going to be good at all times. Therefore, no one beat the drum and it finally became a rooster’s nest. The story has been transmitted generation to generation as the symbol of peace.
The rooster was made of silver and its’ eyes were inlaid with brown. On the leather face, a valiant dragon is curved and depicted with gold, silver and cinnabar. On the body, the pattern exactly like the real drum is depicted with the raised lacquer work. Coarse gold powder used on the drum stand richly, and extremely elaborate aventurine lacquer work performed inside of the drum. Each part has each technique and every metal works are dramatically precision techniques.
