志野焼は桃山時代に美濃地方で焼かれ始めた陶器で、日本人が作り出した初めての白い焼物です。
耐火温度が高く焼き締りが少ない五斗蒔粘土や、鉄分が少なくやや紫色やピンク色がかったもぐさ土といった白土を使用した素地に、長石を砕いた志野釉を厚めにかけて焼かれ、白一色の無地志野、鉄絵が施された絵志野の他、紅志野や鼠志野などがあります。

身近な草花など素朴な文様の多い絵志野ですが、白い釉の下から錆色の絵が現れる様子は、朝霧の中で見る景色のようとも言われます。
こちらの焼物は細く伸びやかな筆使いによって描かれた植物文がやわらかな志野釉の色に包まれ、幽玄な美しさをみせる絵志野皿です。

【Description】
Shino ware had been started to make in Momoyama period in the Mino province.This was the first white graze used in Japanese ceramics. The graze composed primarily of the ground local feldspar and a small amount of local cray.

rust-colored picture comes insight from the white graze, so that It is said that it looks like the landscape through the morning mist. This plate creates a subtle and profound atmosphere by the plants pattern which was depicted with fine and lively lines in the Shino graze.
