色鍋島の復興に生涯を捧げた名工、十二代今泉今右衛門による作品です。
大きく抜かれた窓絵には、車輪梅と山吹を思わせる花が描かれています。
全体を覆う緑地、唐草文様の藍色、窓絵の白地、花の朱色とそれぞれの色合いとコントラストが大変美しい花瓶です。
職人気質であったと伝わる十二代今右衛門は、受け継がれた伝統や古典美を重んじながら妥協を許さない姿勢で独自の格調高い革新的な作風を示しました。
色鍋島磁器を復活させその保存に尽力し、昭和46年、色鍋島技術保存会の代表として国の重要無形文化財の指定を受けました。

【Description】
The work of art made by Imaemon IMAIZUMI the twelfth. He devoted his life to reviving Iro-Nabeshima, the unusually high quality technique of Arita ware.
On the body, it seems like yeddo hawthorn and Japanese kerria are depicted. Each color of pictures make harmonious colors and a good contrast.
It is said that Imaemon IMAIZUMI the twelfth had craftsmanship, so he wouldn’t never have compromised and made refined and innovative work. He made efforts to revive and preserve the technique of Iro-Nabeshima porcelain. Therefore, he became the holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property as a representative of Iro-Nabeshima technique preservation association.
